Some Gardening Pictures

I am trying to do a better job of keeping track of my garden this year.  Last year I did not give it much attention and it showed.  One goal is to take pictures every week towards the beginning of the week to see what is blooming and growing.  Here are some pictures from last week.  Notice the weeds are doing great!  Between Tulip Time and the rain, I have not been able to weed for about 2-3 weeks.

Here are a couple close up shots of what is in the garden now.

In the veggie garden I have lettuce, green onion, kale, peas, and spinach planted.  I was hoping to get more done this week, but it pretty much rained every day.

I hope this week is better weather.  I am finished teaching for the semester and now that Tulip Time is over I will have lots of spare time! Ha!

A Cool Morning

These are some pictures that I took recently.  I spent a couple of days at Hidden Acres, a Christian camp in central Iowa.  I was the first frosty morning of the fall and the mist coming off one of the lakes was very pretty!

Too Long in Writing and Too Many Pictures

I realize that I have not updated this blog since our vacation last year.  I still take lots of picture though.  We just got back from a week-long vacation in St. Louis.  I took over 1300 pictures, but did not get one with me in it!  Rather than try to cover everything in one post I am going to show pictures from the different places we went.  Some place I took alot of pictures (city museum) some none (laser tag).  I do not edit my pictures with photoshop.  These are straight from the camera.

These are from the botanical gardens in St. Louis and are some of my favorites:

 Even the trash was pretty:
